The new book "Authoritarian Diffusion and Cooperation: Interests vs. Ideology", edited by André Bank and Kurt Weyland, was newly released by Routledge.
A new book on "Authoritarian Diffusion and Cooperation: Interests vs. Ideology" was just published, edited by IDCAR-researchers André Bank and Kurt Weyland. It sheds light on the rise of authoritarianism in recent years with a focus on international diffusion and cooperation of these regimes. A central point of the book is the tendency of autocrats to pursue mainly pragmatic interests, rather than ideological missions. The chapters in the book were originally published in a 2017 special issue of Democratization.
